Samsung Medical Center (SMC) is a general hospital located on Ilwon-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Korea. It opened back in November 1994. The hospital is part of Samsung Medical Center and is run by the Samsung Life Public Welfare Foundation.

As of September 2023, the hospital has a total of 2,137 beds, putting it third in the country for the number of beds. The hospital is huge — it covers an area of 153,747 square meters, with a total floor area of 335,138 square meters. The main building has five basement floors and 20 floors above ground.

Samsung Medical Center works with the Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine to offer medical education and research. We’re basically an affiliated hospital of the Sungkyunkwan University School of Medicine. Medical school classes are held at the Sungkyunkwan University Natural Science Campus and Samsung Seoul Hospital.
